What is a succulent?

Succulents are water-retaining plants adapted to arid climates or soil conditions that store water in their leaves, stems, and or roots.

How often should I water?

Only water once the soil is dry. You should never water if the soil is moist or wet. During summer months, water the soil generously but still allow it to dry out between waterings. Over watering can lead to rot, the most common reason succulent plants fail. Avoid watering or misting plant tissue directly; This could cause burning or scarring. In winter, most succulents are dormant. Dormant plants should only be watered once a month.

How long can I leave my plants in their box before opening them?

Remove plants from their packages upon receipt. Plants should be allowed to acclimate to their new environment slowly over the next few days. Start by placing your potted plants in partial shade and step them up gradually to fuller sun. Water two to three days after potting.
